Food For Thought - Personal Hell

Hell has always been depicted as a constantly burning alternate dimension, where all that reigns is a state of evil. Sinners are condemned to a torturous eternity in this razing territory of demons, where there is no day, no night, no way back. Where the Devil looks you in the eye and all evil surrounds you, as punishment for all the sins you have committed while you were in the living dimension above.

But is that really it?

What if... Hell was just a space, with no end and no beginning, no night and no day, no colours, no life, no death, nothing. Only you, and you only. Alone, left there to suffocate in your own thoughts and guilt, driven to the brink of insanity but yet still sane. You wander in search of somewhere, someone, but to no avail, and suicide is not an option. An eternity of being with only yourself and your sins, drowned in your very own personal hell.
